Taking risks.

Helen Keller once said that "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." In order to achieve success or satisfaction it is necessary to take various risks. In all aspects of our life we have to risk something. After all, as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Like many people, I have ambitions. I would like to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or take up scuba diving but I know that in doing so there is a possibility that something will go horribly wrong and will threaten my life. However I think that it is worth risking my life as long as I have achieved a great feat or do something that I may enjoy.

I would also like to start my own business by launching an online translation company but I wonder if it will become successful. If it is a failure then I will have risked my wealth for nothing. This is because in order to start a business you have to invest a lot of your money into it. If the business is a success then you will earn a lot of money. Because starting your business also takes a lot of time and may be stressful you risk your health as stress can make people ill.

When people fall in love they risk their hearts being broken. However when a relationship is over, no matter how upsetting it may be, people somehow have the strength to move on. When people move from one company to another they risk being made redundant and being unemployed as they do not know what will happen to the company in future. After all no job is safe but getting promoted and earning more money is worth the risk.

Taking risks is what makes life more interesting. We may not be able to fulfil our ambitions without facing challenges or taking risks. If we want to succeed in life we have to be less risk-averse. If we wish to be creative or innovative then we need to accept the risks that go with it. People risk their health, their wealth, their reputations, their careers and even their lives in order to have a sense of achievement or to make their lives more worthwhile. Some people see taking risks as being foolish but if it makes us better off aren't they worth taking?

See ya!
